Holiday in Rome

It may seem obvious why anyone would choose to organize a holiday in Rome, but there is so much more to this city than just the Colosseum and the Vatican.

While world-class monuments and millenia of history set a striking backdrop the everyday Roman lifestyle strikes a bold contrast to the hustle and bustle of any other city in the world.

Traces from a mix of cultures can be found in traditional Roman recipes, a cuisine noted for it's savory dishes composed of a few, basic and inexpensive ingredients.

Annual religious and national holidays take a whole new perspective in the capital city by means of grander parades, bigger markets, and more decorated churches.

The sprawling urban landscape offers something for every traveler in Rome, from the high-end international boutiques and elegant street-side cafès of the iconic Via Veneto and Spanish Steps areas to the modest, down-to-earth Monti and Testaccio neighborhoods.

Rome is one of the few cities in the world where visitors can truly blend in and experience the city as a local. Make friends with your neighbors; shop for groceries at the local outdoor market; and celebrate holidays in the city where modern civilization all began.

Self-catering apartments in Rome

To experience the city of Rome like a local is to live and eat like a local. It means to shop at the local outdoor markets, make friends with the local barista, take lunch at your local trattoria, and call home an apartment in a palazzo that’s been around for centuries. This is the daily life of a typical Roman.

Multi-generational families, large groups of friends, families traveling with children and even furry friends are invited to Rome to live this experience. Renting a self-catering apartment in Rome is so easy nowadays; but there are so many options to choose from!

ROMAC was one of the first agencies in Rome to begin managing a portfolio of apartments for visitors to stay in the city and experience typical Roman life. Antonio and Cristiano, the founders of ROMAC, insisted that to truly discover the city it was crucial to integrate and dive into the belly of Rome: eat where the Romans eat; walk where the Romans walk.; and sleep where the Romans sleep.

ROMAC manages self-catering apartments in every neighborhood of the historic center of Rome.

Near every major monument or museum there is a convenient vacation rental for small to large-size groups. In the shadow of the Colosseum, the Monti and Celio neighborhoods host several self-catering apartments for visitors seeking a bustling area full of shops and restaurants.

Near the Spanish Steps, Piazza di Spagna and the Quirinale, the stately residence of Italy’s Presidente della Repubblica, visitors can choose from several large vacation rentals located on prominent streets.

For visitors seeking to stay near Piazza Navona or Campo de’ Fiori, ROMAC manages a number of characteristic homes that offer picturesque views of charming, bustling streets and an authentic Roman home experience. Religious pilgrims seeking a home within walking distance of St. Peter’s Basilica and the Vatican museums have a selection of fine apartments in the prestigious neighborhood of Prati.

Even sports or concert fans visiting Rome for an event taking place at Stadio Olimpico can find the perfect accommodation in the Flaminio neighborhood to fit their needs.

In each of these self-catering apartments visitors find the modern comforts they’re used to at home with the authenticity of being in the heart of Rome. Original pavement floors that have withstood the test of time, centuries even. Windows that overlook charming streets or piazzas let the famous Roman sunlight pour in. Spacious bedrooms, irregularly shaped baths (since baths were not included in the original apartment floorplans, over time they were eventually retrofitted from closets, storage rooms, or outdoor balconies), and a small kitchen with a stove, oven, and refrigerator.

The self-catering apartments provide everything a visitor needs to stay comfortably – and authentically – in Rome. Over the years, ROMAC has improved on the amenities included in a self-catering apartment in Rome. New amenities have been added to the homes, such as complimentary, high-speed wifi to stay connected; large, flat-screen TV with both local channels and satellite to watch both the sports game from home and the local news; dishes and glasses, pots, pans, and utensils – everything necessary to cook a full Italian or international meal at home; air conditioning to stay cool during the famously hot summer months in Rome, and heating to stay toasty during the winter; and an in-home washer to make doing the laundry – even on vacation – a bit easier and less of a hassle.

One of the most important reasons visitors to Rome choose a self-catering apartment is the size of their group – multigenerational families traveling through Italy together. A self-catering apartment offers the comfort of sharing a single accommodation and large, private spaces in the living room and kitchen but with the privacy of multiple bedrooms and baths.

ROMAC’s portfolio of self-catering apartments is famous for it’s high number of large apartments (3+ bedrooms and baths) in the center of the city. At competitive rates, these vacation rentals are an ideal, economical option for large groups and families traveling together through Rome. Since self-catering apartments offer the comfort and experience of staying at home visitors who travel with their pets also tend to choose a vacation rental over another type of accommodation. Traveling with a dog, cat, or other animal friend can present a unique set of challenges for feeding and sleeping arrangements.

Since it’s conception, ROMAC has always been friendly and open to furry guests. When guests arrive at their home-away-from-home in Rome, they’re first greeted by one of ROMAC’s friendly Welcomers. All of the Welcomers are local residents themselves who are eager to share their favorite restaurants and secret spots in the city, tips for getting around, and advice for how best to visit the city. They remain a point of contact during the whole stay to offer help and guidance for requests inside or outside the home.

The Welcomers make up a big part of the heart and soul of ROMAC since they have direct contact with the guests, but the office – positioned discreetly on a small street behind the Pantheon – is full of an international staff speaking multiple languages and dedicated to making the guest experience unforgettable.
